The compound inhibited MRSA cell growth and induced apoptosis in MRSA cells. 2PFBP also has antibacterial activity against other bacteria such as S. aureus and S. epidermidis strains. 2PFBP inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing transcription and replication.
