4-Cyano-L-phenylalanine
CAS:<p>4-Cyano-L-phenylalanine is an unnatural aminoacid that has been shown to bind to amyloid protein, which is associated with Alzheimer's disease. The binding of 4-Cyano-L-phenylalanine inhibits the synthesis of amyloid protein and prevents the formation of amyloid fibrils. 4-Cyano-L-phenylalanine also irreversibly inhibits the enzyme responsible for the production of hydrochloric acid in bacteria.
