Zirconium(IV) isopropoxide isopropanol is a suitable precursor for the synthesis of olefin-functionalized zirconium containing monomers. It is used in the manufacture of hybrid zirconium containing polymers. It is also used as a source of zirconia, a well known material having high mechanical strength, chemical durability and alkali resistance. It is also used for the chemical protection of metal substrates from acids. This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio.
