Diethyl hydroxymethylphosphonate acts as a reactant for synthesis of α And β-dialkoxyphosphoryl isothiocyanate used in antiproliferative studies, dendritic polyglycerol anions for L-selectin inhibition, phosphonates for anti-HIV-1 activity, homo and copolymers of phosphonated norbornenes, Mitsunobu reactions.
