Descripción:The 6-Fluoro-3-indoxyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside is a powerful antituberculosis drug that falls under the category of rifamycins. It is particularly effective in treating tuberculosis infections due to its bactericidal activity. This compound works by inhibiting bacterial growth through its binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, preventing transcription and replication. Its efficacy has been demonstrated through patch-clamp technique studies on human erythrocytes.
