The 6-Fluoro-3-indoxyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside is an antituberculosis drug that falls under the class of rifamycins. It is highly effective in treating tuberculosis infections due to its bactericidal activity. By binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, it inhibits bacterial growth, preventing transcription and replication. This drug has been extensively studied using the patch-clamp technique on human erythrocytes, confirming its high efficacy.
