The 6-Fluoro-3-indoxyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside is a powerful antituberculosis drug that falls under the class of rifamycins. It is specifically designed to combat tuberculosis infection by targeting active compounds and exhibiting bactericidal activity. This drug inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, effectively preventing transcription and replication.
