The 6-Fluoro-3-indoxyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside is a powerful antituberculosis drug that belongs to the class of rifamycins. It is specifically designed to target and treat tuberculosis infections by inhibiting bacterial growth. By binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, this drug prevents transcription and replication, making it highly effective in combating tuberculosis. Additionally, it has been extensively tested on human erythrocytes using a patch-clamp technique, proving its high frequency of human activity.
