Fenson is a drug that has been clinically tested for its toxicity and biological properties. It has been shown to be nontoxic in rats at doses of up to 2,500 mg/kg. Fenson also does not inhibit the activity of α1-acid glycoprotein or human serum albumin, which are proteins that help maintain blood volume. Fenson is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme activities of chymotrypsin and trypsin with an optimum concentration at 5mM. The sample preparation procedure for Fenson is as follows:
1) Place 0.5 mL of liquid sample in a test tube
2) Add 1 mL of water and vortex until dissolved
3) Add 3 mL of 10% sodium citrate solution
4) Centrifuge at 1,000 rpm for 10 minutes
5) Decant supernatant into another test tube
6) Add 1 mL of distilled water to the remaining pellet from step
