Triallylamine is a cross-linker that has been used in the synthesis of chitosan quaternary ammonium and amines. This compound is synthesized by an asymmetric synthesis reaction that uses nitrogen atoms as the catalyst. Triallylamine also exhibits thermal expansion properties, which can be utilized as a solid catalyst. The particle size of triallylamine can be varied by changing the degree of polymerization. Triallylamine has been shown to have a high water permeability and hydroxyl group content. It also has strong hydrogen bonding and hydrogen fluoride absorption capabilities.
