2-Ethoxyethyl acetate is a chemical substance that is used in the analytical method to measure the concentration of 2-ethoxyethyl acetate in urine samples. This chemical can be found as a by-product of glycol ethers and has been shown to have long-term health effects such as chronic exposure, which may lead to kidney damage. 2-Ethoxyethyl acetate is toxic when inhaled or ingested and can cause headaches and dizziness. Ingestion may also lead to nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle weakness, and respiratory depression. Exposure to this compound can occur through inhalation or skin contact with liquid 2-ethoxyethyl acetate. Short term exposure may result in irritation of the eyes, nose, throat, or skin.
