Descripción:p-Tolyl Acetate is an organic compound that is used in detergent compositions. It is a reactive substance that can be used to study the effect of deuterium isotope on reaction endpoints. The addition of p-tolyl acetate to a solution containing methyl anthranilate and sodium citrate produces a diazonium salt, which reacts with benzoic acid to produce methylbenzoate. This reaction can be studied by adding deuterium isotope, which will cause the methylbenzoate product to have different properties from those produced in the absence of the deuterium isotope.
