Descripción:1,1,1,7,7,7-Hexafluoroheptan-4-one is a fluorinated nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to treat inflammation of the colon and other conditions. It is a potent inhibitor of cyclooxygenase 1 and 2 enzymes. This drug has been shown to be safe for use by pregnant women and children. The long-term effects on infants are not known. 1,1,1,7,7,7-Hexafluoroheptan-4-one inhibits the production of prostaglandins and may cause gastrointestinal bleeding. It also binds to gadolinium ions in the body and can be monitored using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Colchicine levels have been found to increase after treatment with this drug in some patients.
