Descripción:Trifluoro(methanesulfonyl)methane is an organic solvent that can be used as a nucleophilic agent in reactions with metal ions to form metal trifluoromethanesulfonates. This compound is an additive for gasoline and other petroleum products, and it has been shown to have a high efficiency in the removal of nitrogen dioxide from the atmosphere. Trifluoro(methanesulfonyl)methane hydrolyzes in water and reacts with acid catalysts. It is also used in the production of phosphazenes, carbonyls, and electrolytes. In addition, this compound has functional groups that are reactive towards c1-6 alkyl group additions.
