Descripción

Convolamine is an anticancer drug that is derived from the natural product oxytocin. It is an analog of caffeine and has been shown to inhibit tumor growth by inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. Convolamine binds to protein kinases and inhibits their activity, preventing the phosphorylation of target proteins involved in cell proliferation and survival. It has been found to be effective against a variety of human cancer cell lines, including those of Chinese origin. Convolamine also exhibits inhibitory effects on urinary bladder contraction and may have potential therapeutic applications for bladder disorders.
