Descripción:(9Z,12Z)-Octadeca-9,12-dien-1-ol is a fatty alcohol that is used as an absorption enhancer in topical formulations. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and can be used for the treatment of skin diseases such as acne. (9Z,12Z)-Octadeca-9,12-dien-1-ol has been shown to react with alkanoic acid at room temperature to form a glycol ether. It is also able to react with unsaturated fatty acids by dioxygenation. This reaction mechanism leads to the formation of a polyunsaturated fatty acid. The molecular docking analysis of (9Z,12Z)-Octadeca-9,12-dien-1-ol has shown that it binds to the receptor proteins in gland cells and stimulates them.
