7-Methoxy-1,3-benzodoxide-5-carboxylic acid is a synthetic fatty acid that has been designed to be resistant to thermal degradation. It can be used as an organic acid and the chloride salt can be used as a crosslinking agent for polymers. The compound is also useful as a viscosity modifier in reaction vessels for organic synthesis reactions. This compound is made up of fatty acids with multiple carboxyl groups and polybasic carbon chains.
