Descripción:2-hydroxyethyl acetate is a glycol ether that has been used in detergent compositions. It readily absorbs water and light, which can lead to the formation of reactive oxygen species. 2-hydoxyethyl acetate has been shown to inhibit enzyme activity, such as hydroxyl group, kinetic, and transfer reactions. The hydroxyl group on 2-hydroxyethyl acetate is responsible for its antimicrobial properties when it reacts with fatty acids. This product also has a high thermal expansion coefficient which makes it useful in polyurethane foams.
