Oxychloroaphine is a natural antimicrobial agent that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties. Oxychloroaphine inhibits the growth of fungi in vitro, including Candida glabrata, which is often found in the oral cavity. Oxychloroaphine can also be used for the treatment of human pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This compound has been shown to have synergic effects with other compounds such as ketoconazole, amphotericin B, and nystatin against Candida albicans. This compound may also have an effect on mitochondrial membrane potential and microbial metabolism. Oxychloroaphine may also affect acetate extract and dimorphic fungi.
