Descripción

Lobelanidine (6CI,7CI,8CI) is a potent anticancer agent that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It is derived from heparin and is found in urine after enoxaparin administration. Lobelanidine induces apoptosis in Chinese hamster ovary cells and inhibits the activity of protein kinase C. This compound also inhibits chitin synthase, which is involved in cell wall biosynthesis. Lobelanidine has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on tumor growth in human cancer cell lines and may have potential as a therapeutic agent for cancer treatment.
