Descripción:Furfuryl propionate is an organic compound that has the formula CH3COOC2H5. It is an ester of furfural and propionic acid. Furfuryl Propionate is a colorless liquid with a fruity odor, soluble in water and miscible with most organic solvents. The transport properties of this compound are not well known, but it has been shown to have hydroxyl group and anhydrous sodium groups on its structural formula. Furfuryl propionate can be used as a polarizer in electrochemical studies. In addition, it is also used as a starting material for the synthesis of other substances such as furfuryl acetate and caffeine.
