Descripción:2-Methylbutyl acetate is a liquid chemical with a strong, fruity odor. It has been used as an ester in artificial flavors for fruits such as cantaloupe, and is also found in the flavorings of diethyl succinate. 2-Methylbutyl acetate is used in sample preparation to dissolve lipids and other organic molecules from biological samples. It can be used to extract fatty acids from bacteria, fungi, and yeast cells. This chemical has also been shown to have binding properties that are useful in the detection of malic acid and diethyl succinate.
