Descripción:2-Hexadecenoic acid is an antimicrobial agent that inhibits the proliferation of bacteria by interfering with photosynthesis. It can be used as a nutrient solution to promote the growth of probiotic bacteria. 2-Hexadecenoic acid has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in human serum and polymerase chain reactions (PCR). This compound may also play a role in metabolic disorders such as obesity, diabetes, and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. 2-Hexadecenoic acid has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and may be used as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
