Descripción:Hexacosane is an unsaturated hydrocarbon with a boiling point of about 210°C. Hexacosane is a natural product that has been shown to have antibacterial efficacy against Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae, although it has not been tested for activity against other bacteria. Hexacosane has also shown some success in treating autoimmune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis. This compound is metabolized by human metabolism, but the metabolic pathways are not yet known. The hydrophobic effect of hexacosane may be due to its ability to inhibit the growth of microorganisms by preventing the synthesis of fatty acids that are necessary for bacterial growth.
