Descripción:Desoxycorticosterone pivalate is a synthetic hormone that is used as a replacement for cortisol in the treatment of Addison's disease. It is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed to its active form, cortisone, in the liver. Desoxycorticosterone pivalate has been shown to be effective in preventing and treating chronic oral toxicity and hiv infection. This drug can also increase the permeability of water in tissues and cells by causing cell lysis, which may lead to an increased production of histamine and prostaglandins. Desoxycorticosterone pivalate has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects on the cardiovascular system by regulating the production of cholesterol, fatty acids, and other lipids. This drug also has physiological functions such as maintaining electrolyte balance in the body and regulating blood pressure levels.
