Descripción:Vinyl n-octanoate is a hydroxylated polyvinyl acetate that is used in the formulation of film-forming polymers. It has a long alkyl chain and is chemically stable. Vinyl n-octanoate has been shown to be useful as an analytical method for determining the purity of polyvinyl acetates. The polymerization process involves the transfer of vinyl groups from monomers to form a polymer backbone. This process can be catalyzed by inorganic acids or fatty acids, which are then used as detergent compositions for cleaning surfaces. Vinyl n-octanoate also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be applied topically to treat inflammatory diseases such as atopic dermatitis.
