Descripción:Decahydro-2-naphthol is an organic compound that belongs to the group of aromatic compounds. It has two isomers, known as 2,6-decahydronaphthalene and 2,7-decahydronaphthalene. Decahydro-2-naphthol can be obtained by the oxidation of decahydronaphthalene with an oxidation catalyst, such as platinum dioxide. The risk group for this substance is unknown. Decahydro-2-naphthol has anticancer activity as it binds to the carbonyl group on DNA and inhibits nucleic acid synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase. This substance also has been shown to have a rate enhancement effect on chemical reactions such as substrate binding when mixed with other substances in a ternary complex.
