It has been shown to be an effective treatment for squirrel monkeys exposed to radiation and may also have the potential to treat humans suffering from radiation exposure. 4-Chlorophenylmagnesium bromide has been shown to inhibit the production of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in mice, which is induced by lipopolysaccharides (LPS). This drug also binds with chloride ions, hydrogen bonds, and forms protein-protein interactions. 4-Chlorophenylmagnesium bromide is soluble in hydrochloric acid and trifluoroacetic acid but insoluble in fatty acids.
