Descripción:1-Phenylcyclobutan-1-ol is a functional group that is used in the production of cyclopentyl and cyclobutanol. It has been shown to be an alkylating agent that can react with the -OH group on another molecule, forming a C-O bond between them. This type of reaction is called a ring opening, which can lead to stabilization of the molecule. 1-Phenylcyclobutan-1-ol also reacts with ammonium nitrate in an elimination reaction to form an aldimine, which can then dissociate into two molecules of ammonia and one molecule of water. The end result is the formation of ammonia and water.
