Descripción:4-Triphenylmethylphenol is a fluorescence dye that exhibits antiviral properties. It is soluble in water, ethanol, and acetone. 4-Triphenylmethylphenol has an electron deficient phenolic group and a triphenylmethyl group. It is used to produce blue fluorescence under ultraviolet light. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of influenza A virus and herpes simplex virus type 1 in cell culture.
