Descripción:EC089 is a bivalent conjugate of tubulysin and linker, which binds to tumor cells. The conjugate consists of a ligand (tubulysin) with an attached linker, which can be modified to bind to different cell-surface receptors. EC089 is active against cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. Tubulysins are natural products that have been shown to be cytotoxic against pathogenic bacteria and fungi. Tubulysins also inhibit tubulin polymerization, leading to cell death.EC089 has been shown to bind specifically to the tumor-associated receptor (TAR), which leads to the activation of apoptosis pathways and the induction of cell death.
