Descripción:4-Methyl-2-methylidenepentanoic acid (MMPA) is a cocatalyst that acts as an inhibitor of autophagy. It binds to receptors on the surface of cells and blocks protein transport, which prevents the synthesis of proteins essential for cell growth and survival. MMPA has been shown to be useful in the production of recombinant proteins. This compound also inhibits glycosidase enzymes, preventing the degradation of glycosylated proteins and lowering their immunogenicity. MMPA has been shown to have antioxidant properties, which may be due to its ability to stabilize metal ions such as zirconium or arylpiperazines. The viscosity of MMPA is relatively low at room temperature, but increases with increasing temperature.
