Descripción:Nutlin-3b is a small molecule that inhibits the activity of the tumor suppressor protein Mcl-1. Nutlin-3b binds to Mcl-1 and prevents its interaction with other proteins, resulting in decreased levels of Mcl-1 and increased apoptosis. It has been shown to be active in vitro against a variety of human cancer cell lines, including HL60 cells. In addition, Nutlin-3b has minimal toxicity in animal models and significant cytotoxicity against malignant cells. This compound is also effective against Mcl-deficient cell lines, suggesting that it may have potential as an anticancer drug for patients with acquired resistance to other chemotherapeutic agents.
