• Descripción: 2-[(Dimethylamino)methylidene]-5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,3-dione is a cyclic amine that is soluble in organic solvents. It has been used to study the interaction between the drug and the cell membrane of MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cells. The drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of these cells by binding to annexin A1 receptors. This binding prevents phospholipase C activation, which inhibits protein synthesis and cell division. 2-[(Dimethylamino)methylidene]-5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,3-dione also has antibiotic properties in vitro against Gram positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis.
