Lithium Salicylate Monohydrate is a white powder that is soluble in water and ethanol. It is an ionic compound and a reaction product of the sodium salt of salicylic acid with lithium hydroxide. Lithium Salicylate Monohydrate has been shown to have pharmacological properties, including analgesia, anti-inflammatory activity, and antipyretic effects. Its mechanism of action may be due to its ability to inhibit cyclooxygenase and prostaglandin synthesis. This drug is also used as a polymerization inhibitor in the manufacture of polyurethane foam.
