Descripción:Tert-butyl (phenylmethylene)carbamate is a diazo compound that can be used as a synthetic intermediate. It is an activated nucleophile, which reacts with arylaldehydes to form the corresponding peracid. This molecule is chiral and can exist in two forms, S and R. The R form of this molecule has been shown to react more readily with benzene than the S form. Tert-butyl (phenylmethylene)carbamate also reacts with valine to produce an amide derivative that contains an imino group.
