Descripción:Isoxazole-5-thiocarboxamide (IsoxAZ) is a drug that has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells. IsoxAZ inhibits the production of interleukin, a growth factor that promotes tumor cell proliferation. It also inhibits leukemia inhibitory factor, which prevents the differentiation of leukemic cells and regulates the proliferation of lymphocytes. IsoxAZ is active against carcinoma cells in vitro and in vivo, as well as against leukemia cells in mice. This drug has been shown to have therapeutic effects on ligaments and other connective tissues by inhibiting cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase activity.
