• Descripción: 4-Bromo-7-chloro-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine is an azaindole with antiviral activity against HIV. Azaindoles are a family of heterocyclic compounds that have been shown to be potent inhibitors of the HIV protease enzyme. The mechanism of action for these compounds is not yet clear, but they may work by blocking the binding site or by causing conformational changes in the enzyme. 4-Bromo-7-chloro-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine has been studied in clinical trials and found to be safe and effective. This compound inhibits HIV replication in vitro and has shown to be active against both wild type and drug resistant strains of HIV. 4B4CHP also has potential for use as a prophylaxis agent, as it does not seem to have any toxic side effects on healthy cells.
