This compound is also used as an analytical chemistry reagent, especially for the determination of tyrosinase activity. Trans-2-Methoxycinnamic Acid can be found in dimorphic fungi and its matrix effect is responsible for the production of cinnamic acid derivatives. Tyrosinase activity has also been observed in hematopoietic cells and trans-2-Methoxycinnamic Acid is a molecule that plays an important role in tyrosinase activity.
