Descripción:2-Decanol is a hydroxylated fatty acid. It is the major component of many essential oils, including lavender and rosemary. 2-Decanol has been shown to inhibit the replication of the pandemic strain Covid-19 in wild-type mice. 2-Decanol has a molecular weight of 116.24 g/mol and a viscosity of 0.8 cP at 25°C. The isolated yield for this compound is about 22%. 2-Decanol can be used as biodiesel fuel or as an additive to other fuels such as diesel in order to reduce emissions from cars and trucks. It can also be used as an ingredient in cosmetics and personal care products, although it may cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in some people.
