1-Tetradecene is an aromatic hydrocarbon that belongs to the group of diphenyl ethers. It has a low toxicity and is not carcinogenic or mutagenic. 1-Tetradecene has been shown to have a variety of biological properties, including antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi, inhibition of protease activity, and inhibition of lipid peroxidation. It also has detergent compositions that are useful for removing lipids from various surfaces, such as polyester fabrics. These detergent compositions may be used in textile production to remove oily stains from fabric without damaging the fabric fibers.
