Descripción:Chloromercuriferrocene (CM) is a monomer that belongs to the class of coordination compounds. It has been used as a growth regulator to induce the formation of chlorophyll in plants. CM has also been shown to be an effective catalyst for polymerization of acrylonitrile and ferrocene, which are monomers. CM can provide a means for the synthesis of ferrocenes with different substituents on the metal atom, such as chlorine or chloride. The reaction temperature required for this process is between -78°C and room temperature. Chloromercuriferrocene binds to mercury and chlorine atoms, forming mercuric chloride and chloromercuric chloride respectively.
