It has the chemical formula CHClOCHPCl and consists of two chloroethyl groups, one phosphoric acid group, and three chloride groups. The molecule has a linear structure with alternating single and double bonds. 2-Chloroethyl Phosphorodichloridate is mainly used for the synthesis of dichlorides and trichlorides of olefins. It can also be used as a reagent in organic synthesis to introduce substituents onto 2-chloroethyl groups. This product is extremely toxic if ingested orally or inhaled, and may cause death by asphyxiation.
