3,9-Bis(1,1-dimethyl-2-hydroxyethyl)-2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspiro[5.5]undecane is a cyclic hydrocarbon that is used as a solid catalyst in preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for the separation of acetal and hydroxyapatite. It has been shown to have antihepatotoxic activity in rats and mice with hepatitis. 3,9-Bis(1,1-dimethyl-2-hydroxyethyl)-2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspiro[5.5]undecane inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) and interleukin 6 (IL6), which are involved in chronic inflammation and cancer development. 3,9-Bis(1,1-dimethyl-2-hydroxyethyl
