• Descripción: 9,9'-bifluorenyl is a matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor that inhibits the activity of matrix metalloproteinases. Matrix metalloproteinases are enzymes that break down collagen and other proteins in the extracellular matrix. This process is necessary for the normal function of cells, such as the healing of wounds, but can be destructive to tissues in certain diseases, including heart disease, bowel disease, and inflammatory bowel disease. 9,9'-bifluorenyl prevents this destruction by inhibiting these enzymes. 9,9'-Bifluorenyl has been shown to inhibit the proliferation and polymerization of cancer cells by binding to their cell membranes. This inhibition leads to cancer cell death through apoptosis or necrosis. 9-fluorenyl has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to reduce prostaglandin synthesis in inflammatory bowel disease.
