It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by interacting with alkoxycarbonyl groups and carboxyalkyl groups in proteins. In addition, it was found to have synergistic effects when combined with Jak2 inhibitors or diazepine derivatives. 1H-Indole-4-carboxamide has been shown to inhibit the tyrosine kinase activity of the JAK2 protein and inhibit cell proliferation in murine melanoma cells.
