Descripción:1-Phenyl-1-hexyn-3-ol is an ester that is a catalyst for the epoxidation of terminal alkynes, alcohols, and phenylacetylene. 1-Phenyl-1-hexyn-3-ol has been shown to be reusable and can catalyze the reaction of aliphatic or aromatic esters with terminal alkynes to form epoxides. The 1,2 diol formed in this process can be hydrolyzed to produce a terminal alkyne. This product has been used as a catalyst for the synthesis of reactive intermediates from alcohols and phenylacetylene in organic chemistry experiments.
