It has a symbol of CPA, and the chemical formula CHNO. 4-Cyanophenoxyacetic acid is an organic compound that can be used in sustainable chemistry to produce oxidants in low temperatures. This compound is able to reversibly switch between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic states at low temperatures. At higher temperatures, it reorients to the ferroelectric state. 4-Cyanophenoxyacetic acid is a strong oxidant with yields of up to 98% and reorientation at temperatures as high as 370 °C.
