Bromocriptine is a dopamine D2 receptor agonist that is used for the treatment of galactorrhoea which is due to hyperprolactinemia and other prolactin-related conditions. This drug is an ergot alkaloid derivative that inhibits prolactin secretion. Additionally, it can be used to management signs and symptoms of Parkinsonian syndrome. Research has indicated this drug for pulmonary fibrosis as well.
