BAY-1895344 has been evaluated in clinical studies for the treatment of cancer with promising results. This drug was also shown to increase epidermal growth factor (EGF) levels in vitro and to promote autophagy, a process whereby cells degrade their own components. In addition, this compound has been shown to have a positive effect on telomere length and tumor response in patients with squamous carcinoma.
